Recently, while doing homework for my public speaking course, I stumbled upon a movie called ” the ultimate gift”. To be 100% honest, it was probably one of the better movies I’ve seen all year.
Just to sum it up, the ultimate gift is a movie that takes you through all kinds of twists and turns emotionally. There’s action, there is comedy, there’s romance and a little bitter tragedy.
But through watching this movie I did learn a few things about running a successful business that I wanted to pass along to you guys.
The Ultimate Gift: What I Learned
So without giving you all of the contents of the movie, here is what I take away from.
The Gift of (Hard) Work. 30 days of hard labor from sun up to sun down. No wasted time, just work until lunch and then work somemore.
The gift of knowing your true friends. Success comes with a lot of people trying to latch on to you because what success will bring you.
The best way to tell a genuine friend from a fake friend is to go through a really tough situation that you need help out of. Most of the friends, or so-called friends, you have will scatter like roaches when the lights come on. Only a true friends will stick around to help you out.
Though the value of money. Quite simply, money is a tool. It’s only value is to the extent of the operators vision.
The gift of problems. Seek out problems to solve and conquer.
This movie, the ultimate gift, has really led me to start to think about things in the different way. In the movie the man who gives out the information is a billionaire, who through this recorded will, teaches his grandson how to appreciate and value his money and the people that he loves in his life before allowing him to access his inheritance.
Personally, I tend to be a bit on the lazy side. It hurts to say it but it’s true. So ultimately I believe the best thing for me and the biggest thing I’ve learned through watching this movie is the very first gift that the main character has to go through, the gift of work.
And it’s not just work…
It’s hard work.
So starting today, I’m changing the approach that I have when it comes to my business. Instead of just trying to do the least amount of work possible (as hopefully you haven’t noticed but that is what I try to do), I’m going to a change it up and get a little bit organized.
Since that of just doing a blog post daily, or less…
I may be focusing mainly on starting to build a list, creating my own products, and delivering the highest quality content possible. That means that I will probably be posting a lot less to my blog but the post that I do will be that much better.
In the end, I just hope that you all realize I’m doing this to benefit the most people. I realize that a lot of you continuously go back to my blog pages because of how helpful it has been to you and your business. But I see now that ultimately the best way to help everyone is to make a plan that includes at the very minimum a 30 days straight of hard work.
By the time all is said and done I should have a product or to complete, new traffic sources to reveal to you guys. (And let’s not forget, better content
